Toilet Training!

Day 1- 

Woke up and put undies on, she was so excited to wear them. Quickly realized this wouldn't work as she ofc did not understand how to hold her pee so would dribble pee every few minutes just like she would her nappies. After the first two undies getting wet in the first five minutes we decided to just have her butt naked for the day. 

Gave her lots of water, offered milk and put blueberries in the water. 

Everytime she peed a bit we rushed her to the toilet to try and catch her midstream. Always reminding her that pee goes in the toilet and to let us know when she needs to pee. We don't expect her to let us know until maybe day 3 but setting the expectations early. 

All morning we spent cleaning up pee from the floor and almost no pee in the toilet but we kept positive. 

We caught maybe two wees late morning midstream and gave big praise and celebration. Right before her nap she hadn't peed in a while (not even a dribble), and so I took her to pee before her nap - we sat on the toilet and she did a big pee! So excited for her. 

During nap wore pull ups, but when she woke up we took them off again. 

After her nap it took maybe an hour until she did another pee, caught midstream and got some in the toilet. 

Realized that she had really slowed down on dribbling pee in between her big pees. We think she is learning to hold her pee until toilet time! 

Took her to pee before dinner and she managed to pee, stayed dry through dinner, had a bath (might have peed there), but dry until we took her to pee before bed, where she peed immediately as Simon put her on the toilet. !!! So amazing. Definitely think she is putting the connections together. 

Tomorrow we will put her in undies so she knows that even with undies on the pee still goes in the toilet. 

Hasn't poo'd yet but it will happen when it happens..

Day 2- 

Woke up, took off diaper and put undies on. 

Reminded her that pee and poo don't go on the floor or in the undies, they go in the toilet. 

First three hours of the day she had small dribbles of pee in her undies but each time she dribbled we took her to the toilet and she didn't pee. 

Finally at 10:30 I took her to the toilet and she did a full wee! So proud.

Half hr later she made a face like she was bearing down so I rushed her to the toilet and caught the poo as it was coming out! She did her first poo in the toilet!! 

Right before lunch we took her and she did another wee. 

Right after lunch we took her and she did her second poo!! 

Just before nap she said "mummy, I want to poo" so we went to the toilet and she did another wee.

Very successful morning, no accidents other than the first three dribbles

By nap time she even told me she wanted to go and went unprompted which is wild. 

After nap went over to Chiu house for dinner, first time with pants on. very distracted playing with Zoey and had a wee accident and a poo accident. No successful toilet time at all. 

As soon as we got home and we did toilet before sleep she did a big pee.

Day 3- 9:15 first pee, motioned by grabbing her front 

9:45 timer - pee in the toilet 

10:15 tried

10:45 tried  

11:36 told me she needed toilet but nothing

12:44 told me she needed to poo and did a poo!! Yay! 

Nappy for nap, slept from 1:15-3pm

4:30pm said she needed to poo poo and did a wee

Mentioned she had a sore tummy during dinner, maybe a bit constipated? 

No accidents all day!!!

Day 4- no success and Childcare today, two big accidents and spoiled her undies/clothes. 

Probably different environments and educators cannot keep a close enough eye to pick up her cues. They try to take her every so often but she doesn't do anything in the toilet, then a while later had accidents. 

Came home and was fine on the toilet did three wees and a poo before bed. All done with prompting though, sitting her on the toilet eg when she gets home, before we sit down for dinner, after dinner, before bed etc. 

Day 5 - day at grandparents 

Put her on the toilet in the morning when she wakes up, before we leave, when we get to grandparents, no pee..

Has a poo accident after breakfast. Rushed her to the toilet saying poo goes in the toilet. 

Took her again before we go out for walk, once we get to the park, before we leave the park, no pee. 

Finally we put her on the toilet when we come home from the park and she does her first wee. 

11:15 am. 

Possibly am taking her too much preemptively? But also realizing that she doesn't go unprompted.. 

Had to leave to take Didi home for his nap but she had another poo accident right after lunch.

After her nap she had a pee accident before they left to aunties house 

At aunties house she managed to pee in the toilet twice

Not sure how cc is going to go tmr.. they may have to go back to putting pull ups on her for sanitary reasons :/ she is gonna be so confused. 

Day 6- guess who had zero accidents at cc?!?!

My not so baby babygirl!!!!!! 

So proud of her.. did lots of pees and even a poo at cc, prompted by educators every hr

Still hasn't self initiated but so great it seems like she can hold in her pees and poos until she is at a toilet!!! 

She's doing so amazing. 

Will keep it going and see how she progresses. I expect her to still have accidents until she can tell us when she needs to pee or poo though!
