Our toddler is suddenly so independent, can play by herself for ages while we tend to Didi. I was surprised as I was expecting maybe some jealousy or some calls for attention but she seems to know that our hands are full and doesn't ask to be picked up if we are holding Didi and is quite happy to sing songs and dance with us close by.
The only obvious change is that drop offs at childcare have been difficult and she has been more reliant on her tiger comforters at childcare. Will hold on to tiger all day for comfort!
Violet says hi to Didi in the mornings but otherwise pretty nonchalant about his presence!
We have such a clever girl.. can recognize all the letters of the alphabet and when we start to sing "A is for.. " she can fill in the blanks - A is for apple, B is for baby, C is for carrot etc etc.
She seems to have a great memory.
Can put all the letters of the alphabet back into the puzzle.
Knows most animals and loves sea animals in particular. Loves dinosaurs too - can identify t rex, pterodactyl, stegosaurus and triceratops! ("Tops")
Loves to sing, good with clapping to the rhythm.
Knows so many words!! If you say it once she will remember for next time.
Chinese words sprinkled here and there - we are still speaking to her mostly in Chinese and she understands however most of her vocab is English.
Asks for "shanwichh" at night so mum and dad will give her a kiss simultaneously
"Dum dum" for dumplings
"Mell" when she wants to smell something
"Help, stuck"
"Da ba" for spider - took us ages to figure out what she was saying
"Nip nip" for crab
"Nake" for snake
